We welcome all children aged from 2½ to 5 years old and as we are in partnership with Fife Council children are eligible for funding by the Council the term after their third birthday.
At every playgroup session we have a ratio of at least 1 adult: 5 children. We work closely with CSNIP’s, a charity which provides one to one support for children who would benefit from additional support at playgroup.
Our fees are £7.00 per session plus £1.50 fun money each week. We also ask for a £25 deposit when your child starts which will be refunded at the end of your time with us, provided you have given us two week’s notice in writing.
The playgroup is managed by a committee of parents and carers of children attending playgroup and they currently employ two qualified playleaders, a relief member of staff and an administrator, all of whom have enhanced disclosure checks. Our sessions are based on the Fife Councils Curriculum for Excellence and we are able to offer the same educational opportunities in a child centred environment as you will find at nursery. A healthy snack is provided daily and specific dietary needs will be catered for.
We are members of the Scottish Pre-School Playgroup Association and are regularly inspected by the Care Commission, HMIe and Fife Council’s Environmental Services.
Parents are not required to stay with their child on a day to day basis though they are expected to participate in a ‘Share and Play’ session approximately once a month, and this is allocated one month in advance.
We are happy to accept children still in nappies or in the process of toilet training.
