Meet the Team

Pauline

Hi, my name is Pauline and I am delighted to be the manager here at Pitcorthie Playgroup.

With over 20 years experience in early years education, I am extremely passionate about working with children and following their progress as they grow. I qualified with my SVQ Level 3 Childcare Care, Learning and Development many years ago and completed my PDA Level 9 in Childhood Practice four years ago.

I am extremely proud of our playgroup and team. They are experienced, enthusiastic and highly qualified practitioners providing an excellent level of care in a stimulating, safe and fun environment.

We  are very fortunate to have a dynamic and diverse staff team – Susan is our administrator and Fiona, Nicola, Vicky, June and Jemma are all experienced and qualified playleaders, registered with SSSC. They regularly undertake Child Protection/Paediatric First Aid/Food Hygiene training and are encouraged to extend their knowledge with other training courses throughout the year with some of our staff recently completing training in Outdoor Learning, Mindfulness and Understanding SCHEMAS in young children.

"My child loves playgroup and always has. Staff have made me very comfortable from day one. I know she gets the best care."

Pitcorthie Playgroup is a charity managed by our Parents Committee. Grace and Linsay are joint chairpersons, Rayah is treasurer and Laura is our secretary. We are always looking for innovative ways to raise funds for our playgroup with fees being our only source of income. Emese  co-ordinates our fundraising and we are able to count on the support of all of our parents to lend a hand when they have a fundraising project.

We actively encourage all parents/carers/grandparents to play an active part in playgroup whether that be coming along to talk to the children about their work/hobbies or baking for our annual Open Day. We hold regular parents meetings to keep everyone up to date and plan activities, trips and events throughout the year.
